This policy outlines the terms regarding shipping, potential damages, returns, and refunds for products purchased from FarmsteadCoops (farmsteadcoops.com). By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
Free Shipping: Many of our chicken coops include free shipping to the lower 48 contiguous United States via FedEx Ground or Freight. Please note that while the cost is waived for the customer, FarmsteadCoops still incurs and pays these shipping expenses.
Delivery Destination: We ship your coop flat-packed in 2 to 5 cartons, typically delivered right to your door via FedEx or CEVA for the fastest service.
Alternative Pickup (Rare Cases): In rare instances, due to the condition or accessibility of a customer’s road or driveway, the customer may be required to pick up the shipment at their closest FedEx station, the end of their driveway, or the end of their street.
Shipping timeframes vary based on the shipment’s location and the time of year.
“Same Day” and “Next Day” shipping models refer to the time it takes for us to prepare and hand the product to the carrier. This is not “overnight” shipping, which we do not offer.
Delivery times are based on the carrier’s (FedEx/CEVA) tracking information. We are not responsible for carrier delays.
Carrier Delays: Very rarely, our carriers may experience unexpected delays (e.g., weather delays). Please note that once your order is in transit, if you decide to cancel for any reason, including shipper delays, you are responsible for all shipping costs incurred (both outbound and return).
DO NOT REFUSE THE PACKAGE upon delivery, even if the exterior appears damaged or if the delivery address is changed to a pickup station.
By refusing the shipment, you agree to bear ALL shipping costs incurred (outbound to you and return to our facility).
These costs, along with a 15% restocking fee, will be deducted from any potential refund.
The internal contents of the boxes are often protected, even if the exterior packaging shows wear. Our policy is designed to get you replacement parts quickly.
If the shipment appears damaged from handling:
Accept the package. DO NOT REFUSE IT.
Note Damage: If a box is missing or clearly damaged, you must note the damage or missing boxes on the freight carrier’s delivery receipt (freight bill) before the driver leaves.
Inspect Contents: Open the product and check the components inside.
Document Damage: Take pictures of all damages to the parts, the exterior boxes, and the instructions (with the damaged pieces circled).
Claim Submission: Email all pictures and a description of the damage to family@farmsteadcoops.com. We will then promptly ship spare parts to resolve the issue.
Damages must be claimed with FarmsteadCoops within a reasonable time after delivery (typically 48-72 hours) to facilitate carrier claims.
Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase.
The chicken coop MUST NOT have been removed from the original boxes. Only unopened, unassembled items in their original packaging are eligible for return.
Notify Us: Email us at family@farmsteadcoops.com stating your intent to return the coop.
Return Shipping: We will provide the return shipping address.
Customer Responsibility: ALL costs associated with shipping the chicken coop back to our facility are the responsibility of the customer.
Refunds will not be processed until all returned items have been received, inspected, and accounted for at our facility.
The refund total will be calculated as follows:
Shipping Costs Incurred: Any and all shipping costs paid by FarmsteadCoops to ship the item to the customer will be deducted from the refund total.
Restocking Fee: A 15% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund total.
Occasionally, we offer free gifts (e.g., aprons, shirts, feeders). These gifts are for customers paying the current full price for a chicken coop and cannot be combined with any other coupons. If you received a free gift and decide to return your chicken coop, you may keep the gift and enjoy it when you pursue your chicken adventure in the future.
By purchasing an item from farmsteadcoops.com, the customer agrees to release FarmsteadCoops of any and all liability related to the product’s use, assembly, or any unforeseen circumstances.
Product Improvement: FarmsteadCoops is constantly improving its designs and products and is not responsible for updating or servicing previous customer purchases with new design features.
